The Holy Spirit comes to transform us, empower us, and cause us to be different. He gives new life by sanctification through scripture, surrendering to His work, and sharp separation of the wheat from the chaff. By the Holy Spirit, we can abound in hope through salvation, sanctification, and preservation.
Pastor Marvo emphasised that the younger generation needs to understand that the superheroes in movies cannot help them; only God can. One cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven without salvation, and salvation comes from accepting the Saviour, Jesus Christ. To follow Christ, we need the Holy Spirit to guide us (Isaiah 30:21) and sustains us. And while in Christ, one is bound to face challenges, not to mention that the devil, who is alive and well, makes all wrong things look good. The encouraging news is that we have divine power to demolish strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) and the Holy Spirit strengthens us to endure to the end (Isaiah 46:3-4, Philippians 2:13).
We cannot desire the indwelling of the Holy Spirit without the Word. A believer should love to read the Word of God, meditate on it, and memorize it (Psalm 119:9-16). The fundamental truth is that there is no transformation without scripture. With scripture hidden in our hearts, we will be able to live life with Jesus. Joyce Meyer encourages us to “do life with Christ”. She explains this to mean that you stop dividing your life into spiritual and secular, but rather do everything with God and for God. With the Holy Spirit’s help, this is what will transform your life and give you joy.
Application:
If you are not born again, you are not okay; you need the Saviour. Do not put off what you can do today. Get down on your Knees and tell Jesus, “I want to be your child; save me and forgive my sins. Holy Spirit, walk with me”.
As a believer, what do you need to separate yourself from to experience the Holy Spirit’s sanctification?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, sustain me in my Christian journey until my faith turns to sight. Amen
